Nike and LeBron

It is always great to hear from Driscoll Reid who is with Weiden + Kennedy in Tokyo. (Click on Title above) He sends the link to the Nike commercial he just completed.
and more info on the campaign here:
www.nikebasketball.com

Driscoll writes, "My creative partner and I came up with the initial concept here in Tokyo and created the TV spot and most of the print for Asia and the United States.
Here is a blog for my office in Tokyo and the one from back at the HQ in
Portland. Both relevant for budding design/commercial arts students!"

Margaritas

BTW, it was great to see everyone at Mary Ann's in Chelsea. There were approximately 15 people there. No ROSIE though. We missed her excellent Deb impressions.
Still waiting for Drew's photos of the occassion. It was especially fun to see Melanie Royster '00 (? it is so hard for me to remember the years.)
she is teaching art and design at Columbia Prep in New York!

Visiting Alum from Texas

Brit Upham '95 came back to campus last Friday, November 9 to speak with business majors. He graciously called and came over to the lab to see the developments that have been made since he graduated. We had a nice conversation and it was great to see him. He was a Business major, art minor (Communication Design), and currently works with McGarrah Jessee in Austsin, Texas. He was formerly with The Stan Richards Group. Still no Texas accent though. One of my current students, Toph Brown 09(?), was present during his presentation.

The job pays well and hours are flexible, The person would need to know basic graphic design skills and knowing how to work on websites is a plus but not mandory. Design in Denmark

Charlie Whitney is moving to Denmark. " I'll be doing some print/web design stuff andprobably a lot of flash programming. The company is called hello monday (hellomonday.net) and they are super nice and talented people;
I'm really looking forward to working with them."
Also, "the Danish design community is exploding right now though and it should be pretty awesome. I know already I'll be working on a few cool websites, design for a cafe (identity, wall decorations, furniture, everything!) and stuff for a clothing line."

Looks like a great place...

Pool Party

Sorry I don't have any pics, (and Deb was there!) but Deb, Jordan and Justin "Wounded Knee" Hirsch, came out for a barbeque and swim. It was sunny and in the eighties. A gorgeous day all around. (Escept for the faint smell of fuel oil.)
